Nicholls offer Overband Magnet Separators that are designed to remove ferrous metal from the product carried by conveyors and vibratory feeders. There main use is to remove ferrous metals from other materials before they are processed through machinery such as Crushers, Granulators and Shredders to protect then from damage. They can also be used to purify materials for many industries; coal mines, cement works, food, alloys, chemical, glass and domestic waste.
These type of Separators are used when an automatic removal of ferrous metal is necessary. Static Permanent Suspension Magnets are more suitable when the process can be managed manually.
These units can be installed either inline or transversal to the conveyor. In both cases, it is necessary to foresee non- magnetic products that might pass under the magnetic field so an appropriate solution, such as an Eddy Current Separator, can be implemented for their removal.
